Creative Foam’s, Dayton, Ohio facility has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Operations. This key leadership position, reporting to the General Manager, manages and is responsible for the manufacture and delivery of the proper product mix to meet quality, quantity, scheduling and cost control objectives of the company by directing the efforts of production, shipping, receiving and customer service at the Dayton Plant. Engineering, Maintenance and Quality also report to the Director of Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Promote plant safety efforts and oversee action items
Provide direction to Department Managers, Production Superintendent and Supervisors across all shifts
Lead and facilitate plant improvement efforts related to safety, quality and production
Operate with an Open Door philosophy, utilizing employee input to facilitate change
Work with engineering and quality departments to develop and implement technically sound and standardized work instructions
Ensure that both the supervisory staff and hourly associates are properly trained
Manage key operations measures – Quality, On Time Delivery, Scrap Reductions, Process Efficiencies. Identify and manage improvement efforts
Recommends, reviews, evaluates and directs changes in labor, equipment and processes to provide for improved quality, quantity, cost containment and safety of operations
Maintains effective coordination and communication between Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting and Personnel
Remains responsive to and may have direct contact with sales and customers in order to resolve product and delivery related problems as required
Develop and maintain operating budgets
Ensures compliance with the established employee handbook and all safety procedures

At least 5-10 years prior management experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
Business or technical related degree
Molded Urethanes experience
Proven ability to lead a team and facilitate improvement initiatives
