DuPont’s El Paso, IL Crop Protection site currently has a development opportunity for the right individual to join the team as a Quality Leader to manage the Quality program on site with the objective to maintain and improve Quality performance. Role includes maintaining and implementing Quality standards. In this role, you will be working in conjunction with Operations, R&D, and Regulatory, leads the implementation of corporate quality standards, operating procedures, training, internal auditing, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and product quality for the Crop Protection business. This role has responsibility and authority to ensure that management systems related to quality are implemented and followed at all times and for the accurate and cost-effective operation of all quality control testing of Crop Protection products.
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Ensure consistent implementation and maintenance of the site quality programs and compliance with global standards for Quality, Contamination Prevention, and Regulatory Compliance which align to the Business Quality Strategy. Ensure alignment with site strategies and ensure that requirements and business needs are met through efficient use of local resources and consideration of technical and business issues. Implement and track metrics and objectives to monitor site performance and utilize to review compliance and quality status with site leaders.
Lead and manage the Site Quality organization. Lead all people processes to ensure the development of staff to meet current and future company needs. Ensure functional excellence is continuously developed and personal growth of all staff occurs. Participate with HR to enable people processes. Ensure plant personnel are trained on the use of Quality/Compliance tools and processes to achieve plant/department goals.
Coordinate the implementation of ISO quality management systems, where appropriate, drive SPC, SQC and other quality processes into the culture of the facility. Lead site Quality Team to: record and evaluate KPIs; manage the self-assessment program to assure conformance to quality standards; resolve customer complaints and quality unplanned events. Interface with external customers, suppliers and R&D to flawlessly execute new product introductions and to address issues with product/service quality.
Monitors costs in order to help provide needed services at the lowest practical cost. Act within framework of operating budget limits. Has delegated authority to authorize maintenance requests and purchase orders to the Quality Control cost center. Has controlling impact on selected capital projects
An ability to think ‘out of the box’ to develop novel, creative solutions for quality assurance challenges is critical, as innovation will be the key to future breakthrough improvements in Crop Protection development and production
Negotiate conflicting cross-functional and customer issues. Negotiate for needed resources to result in win-win outcomes. Build relationships outside the workgroup that enhance the performance of the teams
People leadership skills are critical, as this role is expected to set a leadership example and to represent the site external stake holders regarding quality and analytical issues.
The El Paso site is located in Central Illinois, approximately 14 miles north of Bloomington/Normal. The El Paso, Illinois site manufactures herbicide products for the Crop Protection platform of the Ag Division within DowDupont. The site manufacturers Herbicides and is a key formulation and packaging facility within the new Ag Division.
The site is located 20 miles north of Bloomington and Normal, Illinois. This is the location of several colleges and provides a thriving hub of activity. It is also within 2-hour drive of Chicago.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
5 years total industry experience
Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is desired)
3 years’ experience with Quality Management Systems (Standard 10, ISO, etc.)
Ability to handle multiple tasks and a high-volume workload with shifting and competing priorities
Experience in interfacing with internal and external suppliers and customers through audits and customer complaint investigations
Strong interpersonal skills to both network and to be an effective leader
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and lead by influence.
