We are looking for an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer who is motivated towards introducing and delivering exceptional quality supplier products to our manufacturing facilities. As part of a dynamic new product project team you will be using the APQP process to plan and transform ideas to products for our customers. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and with your valued quality experience will drive and improve our supplier’s processes and products through our continuous improvement program. Effective Supplier Quality Management As an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer, you will drive the supplier end of the APQP process in new product developments/modifications and changes and ensure the quality of products and services at launch or change implementation points. We offer you an exciting platform to use your quality technical experience to continuously work towards zero-defects with our suppliers and improve our suppliers' overall quality performance. You will ensure that the overall sourcing strategy continues to focus on the lowest total cost of ownership. You will lead by example by taking up new challenges around continuous improvement of suppliers, drive feasibility studies, perform risk assessments, validate supplier testing and measurements, participate in audits, PMRs, and PPAP reviews. You will secure customer satisfaction through the APQP process and ensure we work with highly capable suppliers for each project.
Assure compliance of the following: prototype & pre-launch components, materials and services to meet designs and specifications; modified components, materials or services to meet designs and specifications; new components, materials or services to meet designs and specifications; packaging & documentation to meet designs, specifications and DPS standards
Perform supplier risk assessments and preliminary part capability
Complete feasibility studies internally and externally on NPD / NPA
Help drive the APQP and PPAP processes with selected suppliers
Lead the FMEA activities as required
Support the identification of critical to quality characteristics and process keys
Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability, product quality and measurability of supplier components
Participate in the PMR (pre-manufacturing review) with each supplier
Finalize the APQP process with PPAP approval at the suppliers site with follow up audits to assure a successful production launch.
Run the pre-series and zero series audit process
Continually document lessons learned and devise corrective actions as needed
Provide strong quality leadership & direction for the project teams and suppliers
Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline is required (Mechanical preferred)
5 or more years of experience working in quality (prefer supplier quality)
7 of more years of experience and knowledge about the APQP Toolbox, ISO/TS 16949 requirements, ISO/TS 16949 Technical Quality/Audit experience
Ability to evaluate supplier performances, trends, generate reports, identify supplier deficiencies and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using the 8D methodology.
Above average knowledge about the TS16949 system and related quality tools.
Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to work across the organization and provide influence to achieve goals.
Experience with machining and castings highly preferred
Intermediate skills/experience with MS Office (including MS Word & Excel)
Prior experience with ERP/MRP system (SAP preferred)
ASQ certified as a Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Supplier Quality Professional is a plus
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
Ability to travel up to 45% as needed during program launches
