Windings, Inc. is searching for the right person to fill the role of Project Engineer with the right combination of skills and ability to support our business development group. This position is a key resource to enable the activities of business development efforts in establishing new segments, finding new customers in those segments and delivering technical services to those customers. The Project Engineer will work directly with business development leader to promote the technical function of the company, act as a technical liaison to drive long-term profitable growth for the company.

Apply the technical understanding of company resources into solutions which are appropriate for client needs. Identify gaps in capability or technical competency.
Work directly with Business Development leadership in developing written sales proposals and bid packages that detail the quality services offered by the company.
Work directly with program managers to aid in the set-up of project activities, identifying technical or capability risks, specific work tasks and unique operations which require attention and close management.
Engage with customers and prospects during their idea generation phase and properly represent the differentiating value provided by the company.
Lead efforts to implement company best practice and advise internal resources of critical client needs
React and communicate to internal and external customers regarding changes in technical requirements or adjustments in project scope.
Follow up on offered proposals as assigned and participate in the sales operating system of the business
Collaborate with internal engineering to understand newly developed capabilities, competencies and skills which can be used to further the technical offerings to clients and prospects.
Qualifications and Skills:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required. Engineering degree related to manufacturing preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in areas of manufacturing engineering, project management, design engineering, sales support, and writing technical proposals as well as product design and testing activities.
Technical product manufacturing, magnetic and mechanical design and simulation experience is required
Excellent problem solving skills. Strong independent decision making and analytical abilities to make on the spot decisions.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously and demonstrate a sense of urgency. Able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
Strong detail orientation and listening skills to properly prepare technical proposals.
Must exhibit a curious, positive, team-oriented, enthusiastic approach.
A great work ethic and willingness to ethically do what needs to be done.
Position may require up to 25% travel to customers and trade shows/conferences to build relationships, network, and promote the company
