The City of Cupertino is currently recruiting for an Assistant Engineer or Associate Engineer to perform professional traffic engineering work in the Transportation Division of the Public Works Department. The position will be filled at the Assistant or Associate level, depending on the level of qualifications and experience of the candidates selected.
Education and Experience
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
The Assistant and Associate level require a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field. In addition to the Bachelor's degree: 2 years of responsible professional civil or traffic engineering experience is required for the Assistant Engineer; and 3 years of responsible civil or traffic engineering experience performing duties similar to an ASsistant Engineer with the City of Cupertino is required for Associate Engineer.
Licenses and Certifications
The Assistant and Associate level require the possession of, or ability to obtain, a California driver’s license. In addition to the driver’s license, possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Civil or Traffic Engineer in the State of California is required for Associate Engineer.
