For our Technology division we are currently looking for a Logistics Process/Industrial Engineer focused on launch projects to be based in our Grapevine, TX location. This position is responsible for supporting operations in supply chain solutions that map to syncreon North America Technology business unit intrinsic core services and strategic opportunities. Candidate should be familiar with developing savings initiatives from cost data in conjunction with observation and interaction with operations groups.
Experience with customer interfacing is necessary for business case implementation and service needs. The successful candidate will be highly organized with solid time management and strong analytical problem solving skills. Understanding and evaluating conclusions of analyses and metrics is required, facilitated by drill-down and root-cause investigation.
Supporting launches and engineering this role will play an exciting role during syncreon's exciting growth plan by:
• Developing and updating of existing syncreon headcount analysis tools (direct and indirect) in order to analyze impact of change on business and prepare summary reports for Kaizen/Engineering/Operations • Preparing engineering studies to ensure that continuously changing operational processes are reflected in operational and strategic calculations; • Measuring standard time, to proactively challenge and support the realization of reductions in standard time. Constantly strive to eliminate waste. • Being main point of contact for capacity or standard time queries. • Working closely with syncreon Operations, Account Management, Facilities and Project Management teams to develop and implement solutions to meet the requirements of the business. • Managing the engineering functions for assigned projects and activities, including engineering budget, processes, equipment, work standards and facilities. • Assisting with ongoing development and enhancement of standardized engineering tools and methods. • Making informed recommendations and decisions related to the purchase or lease of capital equipment, including forklifts, tooling, lift assists, generators, compressed air systems, racking, sweepers/scrubbers, compactors, and miscellaneous items pertaining to specific projects. • Utilizing syncreon Lean Standards in everyday assignments and analysis including: Line Balance, PFEP, Value Stream Maps, engineering studies, and resource requirement sheets. • Providing input for the development of Process FMEA's and Control Plans for existing and potential work systems • Recommend and implement new and/or improve existing error proofing methods and technology. • Interacts with all levels and various disciplines within the organizational team to achieve defined objectives. • Accountability for on time completion of projects, meeting target growth goals and project performance budgets. • Successful implementation of lean principles and increased performance goals. • Some travel (30%) may be required. • Other tasks as assigned.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's or Master Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Research or related fields with very strong background in engineering redesign and cost savings initiatives. • Engineering Management and leadership capability • Minimum 3+ years solutions design management experience required • Minimum 3+ years logistics/4-walls facility industry experience/exposure is a must • Extensive experience supporting warehousing contracts with engineering expertise • Advanced Data Analysis skills required. • Computer application knowledge and proficiencies: email, spreadsheets, databases, web applications, etc. (Advanced) • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal are essential, including excellent presentation skills. • Ability to be flexible, effective, and productive in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills and ability to work with customers • Highly developed computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Visio or equivalent, and Project Management software are required. Knowledge of Excel should include pivot tables and familiarity with common formulas. The candidate must be proficient in Access, with thorough knowledge of relational database creation, queries, forms, reports, macros, and functions. • Hands on experience with supply chain applications such as WMS, TMS, OMS, SCM. • Ability to manipulate and interpret data • Knowledge of state-of-the-art technology and supply chain best practices • Experience with statistical process control philosophies and methodologies • Ability and proven track record of dealing with complex, short time-frame situations and challenges required • Ingenuity and creativity to create innovative supply chain solutions • Understanding of the global high-tech/electronics supply chain and key market drivers a plus • Experience with quality, process management tools and continuous improvement principles and tools such as Lean and Six-Sigma. • Ability to lead process improvement teams • Must have current, valid passport, or capability of obtaining one if offered the position. • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time within the US, Canada and Mexico
