The primary function of the Wind Energy Technician is to provide construction representative services on large renewable energy projects (wind farm). The Wind Energy Technician is responsible for performing testing of concrete in the field and laboratory for air content, slump, temperature, casting of concrete cylinders, de-molding, and compression testing in the field and lab. You will also perform soil testing, collecting samples, hand proctoring and using a troxler 3440 nuclear density gauge.
This position requires extended periods away from home. You will be out 10-12 weeks at a time then get a weekend off. You will travel to various project site locations in the U.S. Project locations are in CO, OK, IA, NM, NE, TX, IL, CA.
Work schedule is Monday through Saturday and working hours vary depending on project, weather etc. You will typically work 55-70 hours per week.
If you live within 2 hours from the job site you can drive the company vehicle home for your day off on Sunday.
If you live 4 hours from the job site you can drive the company vehicle home after you have been for 12 weeks for your weekend off.
You will be issued a company vehicle, gas card, and maintenance information in case the vehicle needs repair.
It is your responsibility to maintain the vehicle in good and clean working condition.
You will be paid travel time when you are driving between project sites. You will not be paid travel time from hotel/lodging to project site.
You will get a monthly per diem for food, lodging, and cell phone reimbursement which is paid between the 1st and 5th and then between 10th and 16th of each month.
Element will order tools, equipment, and supplies needed to complete the job successfully. You must submit requests to the Project Supervisors for approval.
Element will reimburse you for any expenses that you may occur while on the job site. These expense must be approved by the Department Manager prior to payment made to you.
Element will reimburse you for any expenses that you may occur while traveling to new hire orientation such as meals and luggage.
Receipt's for approved purchases must be given to human resources during orientation.
After 30 days of employment, you will be eligible for health insurance, 401k, profit sharing. You will start accruing 10 days of paid time off on your hire date and 9 paid holidays.
Current ACI CONCRETE FIELD TESTING GRADE 1 CERTIFICATION
Concrete and soil testing experience highly preferred
Valid drivers license, no more than 2 moving violations in the past three years
Be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass E-verify
