Columbia Engineering is pleased to invite applications for a Henry Krumb Professor of Practice of Mining and Mineral Systems Engineering. Candidates for a Professor of Practice appointment are expected to have deep experience in the research and practice of their profession in a non-academic setting such as industry or government laboratories, and to bring this experience to our education and research programs. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or its professional equivalent by the starting date of the appointment. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to conduct pioneering research, excellence in teaching, and to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and scholarship.
Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the advancement of both their field and the department through an original and leading externally funded research program that contributes to the undergraduate and graduate educational and research missions of the Department. Columbia fosters multidisciplinary research and encourages collaborations with academic departments and units across the university.
