The incumbent is responsible for managing and improving a comprehensive quality system including numerous vendors, suppliers and program details. This role would have a dual reporting structure to both the employer and the client. The role is based on-site within the headquarters of the client.
Manage and expand current quality system
identifying processes and procedures to enhance the overall performance and efficiency
turn laboratory data into actionable information
identifying and on-boarding a packaging laboratory,
creating a more robust specification authorship program to support all relevant brands,
creating, implementing and monitoring an effective failure testing program
define and create programs to address improvements for low performing suppliers
Optimize key vendor support and processes
create efficient processes for current and future vendors
allow for benchmarking exercises and a collaboration atmosphere with laboratory and other quality partners to enable continuous improvement and knowledge sharing of non-confidential information
serve as a liaison and conduit between innovation and quality including the specification author team
Responsible for the non-technical staff on-site
Plan and carry out key quality events as needed
coordinate and implement the a global cutting training program (annually)
coordinate and implement an annual supplier conference
other duties as assigned
A bachelor's degree in food science, biology, chemistry or a related fields is required. Work experience equivalent to at least five to ten years of quality systems experience, preferably in a food service or QSR setting. Having direct reports and extensive vendor relationship experience are also preferred.
