Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Construction Manager – Senior Electrical Engineer Senior in Canandaigua, NY. The candidate will provide construction management and electrical engineering services to support construction efforts at medical facilities.
Oversee the renovation, demolition and construction of various structures on the site
Identify flaws and assess the physical condition of relevant structures
Conduct structural inspections
Propose cost effective solutions
Resolve any issues regarding the site or the design conditions
Present cost - effective solutions when necessary
Hold weekly progress meetings
Work with project owner and stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
Skills / Qualifications
Must be a US citizen
Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of New York, or the ability to obtain.
Expertise in construction management with a specialization in electrical engineering
Degree in engineering required, electrical engineering degrees preferred.
8 or more years of experience in construction management
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification highly desirable.
Ability to pass drug screening and a background check
Required Skills and Knowledge
Successful candidates for this position will have the following skills and knowledge:
In depth experience with all aspects of electrical construction for medical facilities including underground electrical installation, high and low voltage power distribution, emergency power systems, communication systems, and installation of specialized medical infrastructure
Experience with the electrical design and installation for specialized medical equipment
Experience with applicable federal, state and local codes relevant to the construction industry
Proven track record of providing oversight of construction schedule, scope and budget on a complex, multifaceted construction project
Experience in providing input on contractor change order, claims, and other issues
Ability to provide timely input on cost estimates and take - offs
Proven ability in providing daily inspection for quality, adherence to contact requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols
Understanding of various construction and engineering disciplines including civil, structural, environmental and mechanical
Working knowledge of building, safety, and environmental codes
Experience with federal government contracting procedures is required
Previous experience supporting construction management projects for federal clients, including USACE and the Veterans Administration is highly desirable
