This position performs highly responsible work relating to the City’s project management functions. This involves advanced professional and administrative work related to the management of capital/construction/process implementation projects for the City. The Project Manager analyzes proposals; initiates and maintains capital project contracts; leads the development and implementation of assigned projects according to defined goals and objectives; coordinates the review of the work of vendors and consultants engaged in a variety of complex projects; monitors project effectiveness and identifies potential areas for improvement; assists in the inspection of projects for substantial completion and prepares punch list of any deficiencies; responds to and resolves difficult and often sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints that may arise related to assigned projects; and performs special investigations, site analysis and feasibility studies as required and submits technical and management reports.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent, Professional Engineer (PE) certification, or General Contractor’s (GC) License preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in construction management or civil engineering related to project management.
Must possess a valid state of Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
