SUMMARY OF POSITION Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to assist in the direction and management of the Public Works Department. Employees in this classification perform managerial and supervisory work. Responsibilities will include overseeing operations of the following departments: Water, Wastewater and Asset Management. This position may perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field supplemented by six (6) years of previous progressively responsible experience in management of public works utility operations including at least five (5) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications may be an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Five (5) years of experience working in Municipal Government. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (25 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Some tasks require visual and sound perception and discrimination and oral communications ability. WORK ENVIRONMENT Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
