The Sr. Staff Segment Marketing Manager – Genetic Disease Testing (GDT) for the Americas Region (AMR) is responsible for managing and driving outbound marketing activities for Illumina’s portfolio in Genetic Disease Testing. This role will include building outbound marketing strategies and campaigns, prioritizing activities, and driving efforts aligned to the company strategy to make the market and drive revenue. The position will include coordination with Illumina’s global and regional segment marketing teams, AMR regional marketing programs, Sales, Digital, and Events teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that strategies are aligned and executed across groups. The role spans across Canada, the US, and Latin America markets.
Responsibilities:
Develop AMR Genetic Disease Testing annual strategic and marketing plans
Accountable for meeting regional segment quarterly marketing target; you are empowered with a budget and leadership, strong colleagues, and other resources to help you get there
Overall budget management every quarter with a counterpart in Marketing Programs
Synthesize and present segment’s Quarterly Business Reviews, key account highlights, and market highlights
Work across many teams outside of the regular reporting framework, build partners across the organization
Build field materials, collaterals, and strategic and tactical plans. Translate product and application updates, stories, pitch decks, case studies, and more into a segment perspective
Engage with KOLs and key accounts as our partner to ensure that their strategic goals are known as best as possible and supported by ILMN
Tuned to customer barriers and creative thinking to consider how to achieve customer needs and value with what we have today and where we could go tomorrow
Frequent synchs with Sales to update, train, inspire
Creator of content to fill the buyer’s journey within any existing segment brand frameworks
Develops positioning statements and outbound campaigns in collaboration with the team and functions across the organization.
Responsible for working with in-region marketing teams and ensuring execution of GDT marketing plan aligned to strategy.
Responsible for driving the growth expected in the GDT market and tracking relevant business metrics.
Contribute to the longer-term GDT product and marketing strategy
Contribute to Franchise teams and Illumina’s AMR commercial team to adopt the GDT portfolio
Travel to external conferences, internal meetings, and customer meetings up to 25% of the time
Experience/Education:
BS or MS in a scientific discipline is required. MBA preferred.
8+ years of clinical product marketing experience required
Strong knowledge in the genetic disease market landscape, including NGS utilization in these markets
Must have experience marketing to laboratories, health care providers, and patients
Must have strong analytical skills and ability to connect detailed analysis to a larger strategy
Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings
Must have established a track record of delivering effective and strategic marketing plans for products on the market
Experience with Sequencing solutions and markets; clinical product lines experience is required
Ability to present and influence at the Executive level, both internally and externally, with customers, KOLs, etc.
Ability to work collaboratively across functions in the organization, including (but not limited to) FP&A, Market Development, Product Management, Medical Affairs, Regional Marketing, Sales, and Corporate Support Functions.
