In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
Ensure adequate quality policies and practices are developed across the company.
Provide support and direction to the entire Quality organization; interface with executive and midlevel management and with customers
Seek, identify, and propose other opportunities in the area of quality improvement.
Monitor, measure, and report to executive and corporate management regarding the overall health and status of quality management system, continual improvement activities and the improved business results as a result of the quality efforts.
Monitor overall integrity of the company’s quality systems including lab testing, physical inspections, record keeping, product quarantine, off-site manufacturing, raw material assessment, quality related employee training, new product development, and claims processing.
Identify, understand, and document processes and procedures surrounding internal controls. Continually monitor and update the assessment of the control environment, keeping abreast of significant control issues, trends and developments.
Identify and assess the implementation of new policies, as necessary.
Prepare and update a comprehensive risk-based audit plan for evaluating the effectiveness of controls in place to manage significant risk exposures, ensure the integrity and reliability of information, safeguard company assets, and comply with laws and regulations.
Prove ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, to effectively present to peers and management.
Exhibit the leadership skills needed to influence and obtain management buy-in for constructive change.
What do I need to be successful?
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with at least five years’ demonstrated experience involving the applications of SPC/SQC/TQM/ etc.?
Demonstrated knowledge in developing, managing, and reviewing a corporate quality management system
Knowledge of the manufacturing industry
Ability to think strategically and effectively implement plans
Strong interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and written/oral communication skills
High level of professional excellence characterized by sound judgment skills and drive for results
Advanced strategic thinking with ability to apply tactical solutions
Advanced knowledge of best business practices and their application
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment.
Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within set time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
