Provides leadership, oversight, execution, and support for JEA's grid innovation and resources integration initiatives, ensuring alignment to JEA's mission and values, executive priorities, and long-term planning assumptions. Leads development of JEA's grid innovation and resources integration strategy, coordinating across the company to create and implement plans based on measures for success that support JEA's goals. Provides leadership to develop and deliver programs and strategies that are in alignment with JEA's strategic corporate focus areas of Earning Customer Loyalty, Delivering Business Excellence and Developing an Unbeatable Team. Strategies and programs are designed, implemented, and operated to result in an optimal customer experience, market transformation and/or the development of new resources and markets resulting from changing regulations, technologies, or business strategies.
Develops, implements, and monitors short and long-term strategies, and annual business plans to achieve organizational mission, goals, and performance measures.
Provides leadership and direction for JEA's Distributed Energy Resources (DER) strategy, policies, technical analysis, pricing, and market development initiatives including renewable energy, electrification, micro-grids, and other solutions, and develops Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to assess the overall performance of the DER program and its offerings.
Provides leadership and direction to develop a strategy to understand JEA customer's energy and water resource needs, working with business development and other groups to execute on the strategy.
Provides support for JEA's energy and water demand-side management and conservation market development initiatives and policies to achieve corporate goals and comply with regulatory responsibilities.
Ensures collaboration for JEA's demand response initiatives including resource deployment and pricing
Identifies and establishes new markets or pilot projects through cross-functional coordination, feasibility analysis, business case development, and business planning, to support the implementation and operation of new products or programs.
Collaborates with internal business groups and utility functions such as business development, customer engagement, electric planning, rates, marketing, and external stakeholders such as environmental advocacy groups in the execution and planning of shared resource solutions, programs, policies, and market development to meet the needs of JEA's customers.
Maintains a focus on emerging technologies, policies, governmental regulations, pricing, and trends around utility and shared resources and market development with necessary business unit coordination for JEA's long-term planning and response.
Collaborates with JEA business groups on grant-funding opportunities for utility market development.
Advises on pilot project development in consideration of emerging technologies or trends.
Forecasts, develops, and administers department budget and reporting.
Ensures fiscally responsible staffing and vendor contracts to deliver and manage day to day operations and resources.
Assists with the compliance of JEA's regulatory responsibilities with regard to demand-side management and renewable energy and water programs engaging with the Florida Public Service Commission, other Florida utilities, associated interest groups, and legal counsel to determine JEA's state required programs.
Develops and maintains department related policies and procedures.
Plans, organizes, trains, coaches, directs, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff, establishing performance requirements and personal development targets aligned with the JEA Scorecard and Strategic Initiatives, monitoring performance, and providing direction for performance improvement and development.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Communication, Engineering or equivalent in related field. Master's Degree preferred.
AND
Experience: Eight (8) years of successful business experience and proven management and leadership experience in electric, water, or wastewater utility operations or similar industry experience with 5 years' experience delivering consultation services to large scale customers preferred.

An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
License/certifications/registrations: A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment.
