Design Alaska is looking for an enthusiastic and charismatic Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. Design Alaska is a full-service Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying firm that provides commercial and institutional design services throughout Alaska. Senior Civil Engineering duties typically include:
Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access.
Interpretation of geotechnical data obtained from borings and pothole investigations and frozen soils.
Design of transportation networks and building sites to accommodate vehicles and people in arctic locations.
Analysis of storm water, drinking water, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design.
Construction cost estimating. Overseeing construction projects and progress inspections.
Occasional in-state travel is required for site visits.
Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Senior Civil Engineer applicants:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in designing and managing civil engineering projects.
Demonstrate a broad depth of knowledge in the practice of civil engineering.
Ability to train and mentor young engineers and EITs.
Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D or similar software experience.
Ability to work remotely is negotiable.
