Baker Smith is currently seeking a driven licensed Professional Engineer who thrives in project management and has an expertise and passion to better local communities and lead the team in our Houma, LA, and Thibodaux Offices.
Leadership, management, and accountability of direct reports.
Works with discipline, project execution, client management and internal leadership.
Overseeing successful project delivery by project managers/teams.
Ensuring that the appropriate standard of care (quality assurance/quality control) is provided on all project work.
The position lies within a specific discipline (Engineering) and has responsibilities over office locations.
Work within a team of professional colleagues to develop civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of municipal and private infrastructure projects.
Manage all aspects of a project, and take the lead in technical design, plan, and specification production.
Mentor and empower project team members by displaying high levels of engagement and character.
Contribute to, and actively engage in, the refinement and implementation of the firm’s strategy and business growth plan for all markets and practices in the South Louisiana region.
Strengthen and grow existing client base and service offerings; Identify opportunities for growth across markets.
Minimum of 10 years of experience.
Louisiana-licensed professional engineer (P.E.).
Proven skills in engineering design, problem solving, and project management.
Project management experience, including the development of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and the successful execution and tracking of both small and large engineering projects.
Proven leadership skills.
Ability to clearly communicate and relate to clients and associates at all levels of the organization.
Experience monitoring and controlling costs within own work.
Experience solving moderately complex problems and will be expected to apply new perspectives on existing solutions.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus, but not a requirement.
