The Moghe Lab (https://www.moghelab.org) in the School of Integrative Plant Science at Cornell University is seeking to fill an open postdoctoral position in computational biology/machine learning. There are two NSF-funded projects that the postdoc will work on: 1) predicting functions of plant enzymes using AI/ML, phylogenomics and network analysis, and 2) deriving better biological insights from LC-MS data. Expertise in either area is ok, but the postdoc must be willing to learn and work on both aspects. The postdoc must have a strong background in Python, a strong foundational understanding of molecular biology & biochemistry concepts, and a general enthusiasm about scientific discussions and exploration. These projects involve interactions with global databases including UniProt, Gene Ontology and multiple plant-related databases/teams, providing the recruit with a global exposure and impact.
