Big Bend Electric Cooperative Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based out of our Mesa, WA location. Mesa is located approximately 30 miles north of Pasco, WA (Tri-Cities).
Position Summary
The successful candidate would possess a wide range of understanding of electrical engineering topics including but not limited to system planning, substation design, construction, staking, analytics, equipment protection, system voltage regulation, load flow, metering, and SCADA. They should be well-versed with industry standards and be committed to promoting a culture of safety.
This position would be responsible for daily engineering functions across all technical aspects of the distribution and transmission systems.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineer License in the State of Washington required.
Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in electric distribution utility design procedures, preference given to REA/RUS experience.
Knowledge: Requires knowledge of electric transmission and distribution system construction and operation. Requires knowledge of requirements of the National Electric Safety Code, National Electric Code, Rural Utilities Service specifications and bulletins, Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulations, Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act rules, Cooperative policies and procedures, and other regulations affecting the Cooperative.
