The primary function of the position is to develop specialty wheel designs that are used in off-road applications. The role will also work closely with customers and suppliers to determine new product requirements and bring products to market.
Essential Functions:

Creates parametric models and detailed drawing packages for review and distribution.
Develops and optimizes designs in 3D CAD software and associated CAE tools.
Reviews customer and supplier prints, models and design proposals for comment and approval.
Contacts customers and suppliers to develop new design concepts and resolve existing design issues.
Validates manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility.
Supports Operations to resolve product issues and brings new product to market.
Develops new product specifications and supports the testing and validation of new products.
Features design and testing to meet program objectives.
Tests failure analysis and solution validation to complete successful product development.
Interfaces with multiple disciplines and different cultural backgrounds to determine product requirements and to coordinate product changes.
Applies technical expertise to problem solving throughout product lifecycle.
Other duties can be assigned based on company needs and employee capabilities.

Interface with multiple disciplines (and multiple countries / cultures) to determine product requirements and to coordinate product changes.
Able to organize, maintain focus, and follow up on projects independently.
Able and willing to take on projects as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. At times, due to projects or work assignments, employee will need to coordinate and direct a team to meet/satisfy individual/company objectives.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office environment. There is a separate on-site Engineering Lab area where the use of specialized testing and measuring equipment is often required.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (occasionally).
Utilizing engineering test and inspection equipment requires some dexterity and flexibility.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. To meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will be required to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends.
Travel:
5% domestic travel is anticipated, but occasional international may also be required.
Required Education and Experience:
BS Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar from an accredited university.
Minimum of five years of 3D modeling experience.
Minimum of five years of product development experience.
Working experience with Microsoft Office.
Tire and/or wheel development background.
Preferred Education and Experience
CREO 3D Modeling.
Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) Systems such as Windchill.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software modeling.
A 3D printing capability.
