The 88th RD (Readiness Division) is responsible for all US Army Reserve owned properties throughout the northwest states - 19 states with over 336 buildings.
All contractor employees are required to get a background screening through the Defense Department. Once completed, the contact employee will get a CAC (Common Access Card). The CAC will allow entry to the military installation, the building, and is required to logon to all USAR computers.
This position will be available immediately. The place of work will be Ft. McCoy, WI.
The Army Reserve will supply a workspace, computer, printer, and telephone. Since some USAR locations are secure, cell phones may not permitted in some buildings.
Responsibilities:
Review of plans for military construction projects to ensure that all construction contains fire protection and life safety features required by the DoD & NFPA. Technical design review will ensure all required features are present and local emergency response elements are incorporated.
Provide technical information to Army Reserve personnel in all areas of fire protection. This includes: fire alarms, fire sprinkler systems, foam systems, fire pumps, fire hydrants, kitchen hood systems, fire extinguishers, and egress/evacuation.
Assist your RD in determining the severity and scope of repairs for all USAR owned buildings.
Review fire protection inspection reports (by others) and create memos that can be understood and acted upon by AR personnel.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations to educate both AR personnel and command staff on the importance and proper use of fire protection systems, as well as fire prevention.
Send out quarterly fire messages to the entire command.
Development of a database with information for all fire protection equipment located in buildings maintained by the RD.
Travel to facilities throughout your respective region and perform a QC walk through to visually confirm functionality of systems and thoroughness of 3rd party fire protection inspection reports. (Travel is expected to average 2-3 days per month, often overnight.)
